A glimpse into the rainy season here in Thailand. I took this video where I stand and wait for my host family to pick me up when I get off the song teaow (general term for the taxis that are essentially two benches placed in the back of a pick up with a cover over it, literally translated- two rows) in the afternoon. Sometimes it rains so much in one night that the river in my area floods. I’ve been surprised, though, to only have been caught in the rain, if you will, a handful of times since i’ve been here. Though, I see why floods are problematic and although I’m excited for the cool season, there is something beautiful to the sounds of rain as a backdrop to your everyday.
